Manchester United defender Luke Shaw "is awake and alert" and will be closely observed overnight after picking up a head injury during England's 2-1 defeat to Spain in the UEFA Nations League on Saturday night.
Shaw was rewarded for his impressive start to the season with a spot in the England XI, and provided the assist for club teammate Marcus Rashford to make the breakthrough on the night.
The left-back picked up a head injury when he collided with Spain defender Dani Carvajal early in the second period, however, and was stretchered off the field.
England have now provided an update on the 23-year-old's current situation, and it is good news regarding the defender's health.
"Luke is awake and alert, having been assessed by our doctor and given an X-ray. He'll stay with us overnight for further observation, with another update to come in the morning," read a statement from England.
Goals from Saul Niguez and Rodrigo Moreno saw Spain turn things around to overcome England at Wembley.
