Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson believes that defender Rio Ferdinand will not be called up to replace John Terry in the England national team.
Ferdinand was left out of the Three Lions' squad for Euro 2012 and is reportedly now open to playing for his country once again.
"I wouldn't think he will get called up," said Ferguson.
"[England coach] Roy Hodgson made his decision before the European Championship and I can't see him changing that.
"It would be difficult for him now to go back to Rio Ferdinand and welcome him back."
Ferdinand made his debut for England in 1997 and has played 81 times for his nation.
