John McCombe has revealed that he will join Mansfield Town when his contract with Port Vale comes to an end later this month.
The 28-year-old, who had his contract terminated by Port Vale, said that he turned down a host of offers before deciding to join the newly-promoted League Two side.
"Hopefully we can kick on from the players' achievements last season and have another good year," he told the club's official website.
"I've had quite a bit of interest this summer [from other clubs] but after speaking to [Stags manager] Paul Cox and the rest of the staff, it seems like this club is heading in the right direction. I'm a centre-half who gives 100% and I'll be giving everything now for Mansfield."
McCombe made 37 appearances for Port Vale last season.
