Caretaker manager Jose Anigo has told his Marseille players to cause an upset against Borussia Dortmund for the fans on Wednesday night.
The French side have already finished bottom of Group F having lost all five of their games in the competition, but Anigo wants a reaction from the team following the sacking of Elie Baup in the wake of the 1-0 defeat to Nantes on Friday.
"Against Borussia, who are a benchmark in terms of beautiful football, we'll do all we can to have an influence in this group," Anigo said in his press conference. "Our fans won't be coming to the ground to see their side lose or to put on a poor showing. We want to turn in a promising performance; it would be great to end the competition on a positive note.
"We want to get a result for the club's honour. This match could set the trend for the matches to come; a good result could hold us in good stead for the clash with Lyon [in Lyon on Sunday night].
"I'm expecting a reaction from the lads, who want to improve and show another side of their game. I won't treat them with kid gloves either; I know them and if I have something to say, I'll tell them. In terms of mental strength and commitment, I think you'll see a big change."
You can enjoy live coverage of Marseille against Dortmund on Sports Mole tonight from 6.45pm.
