Andre Ayew claimed a brace as Marseille recorded a 2-1 victory from their home encounter with Toulouse in Ligue 1 this afternoon.
The hosts dominated virtually the whole of the first half, but it wasn't until stoppage time that they opened the scoring.
French international Mathieu Valbuena was the creator as he sent over a cross for his teammate Ayew, who converted from close range.
Marseille continued to apply pressure after the restart and scored what proved to be the winning goal in the 61st minute. Morgan Amalfitano played in Ayew and the Ghanaian found the net for a second time.
Eden Ben Basat reduced the arrears for the visitors eight minutes from time, but it was only a consolation goal.
