French club Marseille have confirmed that they have accepted an offer from Newcastle United for Loic Remy.
Recent reports had linked the 26-year-old with a host of clubs, including Queens Park Rangers and Borussia Dortmund.
However, it now appears that the Magpies have won the race to land the French international.
"We have an agreement with Newcastle for the transfer of Remy," Marseille's president Vincent Labrune told RMC. "Loic can negotiate with them."
Earlier today loanee midfielder Joey Barton revealed that Remy was close to completing a move to Tyneside.
