Newly-promoted Metz have claimed a well-fought point by drawing 1-1 at home to Nantes in Ligue 1 this evening.
Nantes took the lead after only three minutes when Jordan Veretout proved efficient with his left foot by driving the ball into the bottom corner past Johann Carrasso.
The home side drew level in the 10th minute when a run from Juan Manuel Falcon drew a foul in the box from Papy Djilobodji, allowing Yeni Ngbakoto to step up and convert from the spot.
Nantes should have retaken the lead before half time, but Johan Audel somehow managed to drag a tame shot wide, despite finding himself with space inside the penalty area.
Both sides failed to create anything of note in the second period, apart from Ngbakoto who struck a fierce shot from distance which thundered straight into Maxime Dupe, leaving the final score at 1-1.
