Ian Holloway has rubbished claims that Paul Robinson no longer has a future at Millwall.
A local newspaper in London gave the impression that Robinson, 32, might never play for the Lions again.
However, Holloway insists that all he meant to say was that he wouldn't be recalled from his current loan at Portsmouth.
"I have spoken to Robbo, who would have had every right to feel aggrieved to read about his future at Millwall in a newspaper rather than for me to speak to him directly," Holloway told the club website.
"My response to a question I was asked about Paul was that it isn't my intention to recall him at the moment. He is on loan to Portsmouth until January and no longer term decisions will be made before then.
"I have made it clear to Robbo that I would speak to him personally about matters of this nature, and I'm disappointed that this article made him feel that this would not be the case."
A former captain of the Lions, Robinson's contract at The Den is up at the end of the season.
