Millwall have reportedly opened discussions with Tim Cahill regarding a surprise return to the Championship outfit.
Cahill has gone on to enjoy a stellar career with Everton and Australia, making 278 appearances being with the Toffees and scoring 50 goals in 104 outings for his country.
However, the 38-year-old began his professional career at Millwall and according to the Herald Sun, the veteran attacker is on the brink of penning a deal with the London side.
A source told the newspaper: "He will be back at Millwall. Tim has already gone to England."
Cahill is currently searching for a club in order to gain regular first-team action ahead of the World Cup, with the player having left Melbourne City in December.
During his time at Millwall between 1998 and 2004, Cahill scored a total of 56 goals in 249 matches, with his final outing coming against Manchester United in the 2004 FA Cup final.
