Preston North End have held MK Dons to a 0-0 draw at Stadium MK in League One tonight.
It was the Dons who fashioned the game's first opportunity through Daniel Powell, who saw his bid to open the scoring rebuffed by the legs of Lilywhites goalkeeper Declan Rudd after 10 minutes.
Karl Robinson's men threatened again on 32 minutes, with Izale McLeod watching his 25-yard volley sail narrowly past Rudd's left-hand post.
The hosts were unfortunate not to have earned a slender advantage at the interval, with Powell again proving a menace inside Preston's box but he watched his effort squirm wide of the post.
Simon Grayson's charges found their rhythm in the second half and were almost rewarded for their perseverance, with Scott Laird firing into the side-netting from a tight angle.
Dele Alli, recalled to the starting lineup this evening, came within millimetres of justifying his inclusion in heroic style but dragged his effort narrowly wide of the mark on 75 minutes.
It proved as close as either side would come to breaking the deadlock as both managers settled for a share of the spoils.
