Montpellier HSC winger Anthony Mounier has insisted that last year's Ligue 1 champions can still qualify for Europe by winning their final six games of the season.
Mounier, whose Montpellier are up against his former side Lyon on Friday night, said that with victory they can start to close the five-point gap to sixth-placed Lille and the eight-point gap to third-placed Lyon.
"When you look at the standings, it's possible, even though the defeat to Bordeaux was coupled with victories to those teams above us on the ladder," he told Ligue1.com.
"We are five or six points behind now and there aren't many matches left. We have to win against Lyon, and then we have to win the five matches that follow if we want to qualify for Europe next season."
The defeat to Bordeaux made it mathematically impossible to retain their title.
