An injury-time winner from Hilton has secured just a third win of the season for Montpellier HSC with a 2-1 victory over in-form Nantes in Ligue 1 at Stade de la Mosson.
Nantes had won four of their last five coming into the match and they were the first to threaten when Kolbeinn Sigthorsson headed down to Yacine Bammou, but the midfielder's shot from a tight angle flew narrowly wide of the post.
Three minutes later it was the hosts who took the lead when Jerome Roussillon latched onto Mamadou N'Diaye's through ball to fire past Remy Riou and break the deadlock.
Sigthorsson headed Lorik Cana's corner over the crossbar as Nantes looked for an immediate response, but Rodrigue Ninga came close to adding to the hosts' lead before the break when he drilled wide from long range.
Montpellier secured their first wins of the season in their last two matches, but they were pegged back just after the hour when Jules Iloki crossed for top scorer Bammou, who expertly converted his fourth goal of the season to restore parity.
Both sides had chances to win the match but just as it looked as though the points were going to be shared, Hilton poked home Mustapha Yatabare's cross to snatch victory for the hosts.
