Montpellier HSC have cruised to a 2-0 home win over Ajaccio in Ligue 1 this evening, thanks to goals from Anthony Mounier and Remy Cabella.
M'Baye Niang went close for Montpellier in the opening minutes of the game when he saw his right-footed shot from outside the box fly past the keeper's post.
Niang was wasteful midway through the half as he was unable to convert from Siaka Tiene's cross, despite only being six yards out from goal.
Ricardo Faty could have put the visitors ahead just before half time, but he headed over from the centre of the box after connecting with an inch-perfect cross from Johan Cavalli.
Montpellier made them pay after the break, as Mounier converted with his left foot after latching onto a headed pass from Niang inside the box.
The hosts finalised the three points in injury time when Víctor Hugo Montano found Cabella, leaving the midfielder to slot home to make it 2-0.
