Goals from Patrice Bernier and Sanna Nyassi have earned Montreal Impact a narrow win over New England Revolution at Saputo Stadium.
Bernier fired the hosts ahead from the penalty spot on 28 minutes after Chris Tierney had illegally halted Nyassi's progress.
New England were level in the final minute of the first half, courtesy of an own goal from Impact goalkeeper Donavan Ricketts.
Nyassi then restored his side's advantage midway through the second period with a low right-footed shot from a narrow angle following a Justin Mapp free kick.
Montreal have now moved two points above New England in the Eastern Conference, however the Canadians have played three more matches.
