Napoli have reportedly indicated that they are prepared to put together a lucrative proposal in order to sign Inter Milan forward Mauro Icardi.
The Argentina international endured a turbulent period during the last campaign, which has led to the 26-year-old being made available for transfer this summer.
Icardi has been linked with a move to Juventus, although it appears that the Serie A champions face competition for the striker's signature.
According to both Gazzetta dello Sport and Corriere dello Sport, Napoli are prepared to pay £54m and offer long-serving Lorenzo Insigne as part of the deal.
The report adds that Carlo Ancelotti is determined to sign a proven goalscorer in a bid to strengthen Napoli's hopes of dethroning Juventus.
The departure of Insigne would be significant, however, given that the 28-year-old has spent his entire professional career in Naples.
