NEC and Groningen have played out a 1-1 draw in Sunday's Eredivisie clash at the Goffertstadion.
The visitors took the lead after just nine minutes played, Albert Rusnak drilling a low ball past the reach of goalkeeper Benjamin Kirsten.
Two minutes into the second half, NEC were gifted a penalty when Christian Santos's shot was handled by an opposition defender, which the Venezuelan winger opted to take himself and duly hammered past Sergio Padt.
No further goals were to come in the game as the spoils were shared come the final whistle, a result that keeps NEC and Groningen in seventh and eighth place respectively in the Eredivisie table.
