Dutch FA rules out Danny Blind exit

The Dutch Football Association insists that it will not dismiss Netherlands head coach Danny Blind.

The Dutch Football Association has stated that there are no plans to sack Netherlands head coach Danny Blind.

The Oranje are struggling in their bid to qualify for Euro 2016, with defeats to Iceland and Turkey this week being Blind's first two games in charge leaving them fourth in Group A and two points adrift of a playoff spot.

Blind recently took charge of the side following the departure of Guus Hiddink, and the Dutch FA has reiterated that the 51-year-old will not be jettisoned so early into his reign.

"Danny Blind is not facing the sack," Sky Sports News quotes a Dutch FA official as saying. "He's only been our manager for two games. Despite losing both, we could still qualify for the European Championship.

"Blind signed a contract keeping him with us until the World Cup in 2018. Within that contract there is an agreement for him to meet the Board of Directors after the European qualification period.

"That will still happen in the next couple of months to see if they're still happy with him."

Holland face Kazakhstan and Czech Republic in their final two qualifiers next month.
