Dirk Kuyt calls on his Dutch teammates to end their World Cup campaign on a winning note ahead of their third-place playoff against Brazil.

Netherlands forward Dirk Kuyt has called on his teammates to leave the World Cup on a winning note ahead of their third-place playoff with Brazil.

The Dutch return to action tonight when they face the host nation in Brasilia.

While admitting that he would prefer to be playing in the final, Kuyt believes that there is still plenty to fight for against Brazil this evening.

"In football there is always a next match," he told FIFA.com. "We want to win here, return unbeaten and with a feeling that we have given everything here.

"We want to leave this tournament with a good feeling. We still won't be satisfied but this is the way we have to look at things as top athletes. Third place will feel a lot better than fourth place."

Kuyt, who has scored 24 goals in 102 games for the Netherlands, recently confirmed that he would be retiring from international football after the World Cup.
