An injury-time goal from Papiss Cisse has sent Newcastle United into the quarter-finals of the Europa League with a 1-0 win over Anzhi Makhachkala.
The striker found the net in the 93rd minute at St James' Park to give the Magpies a 1-0 aggregate victory over the Russians.
The home side were on top in the first half, but Samuel Eto'o and Odil Ahmedov both wasted good opportunities.
Newcastle came out flying after the break and they nearly broke the deadlock instantly when Moussa Sissoko's header floated over the crossbar.
Sissoko scuffed an effort on goal soon after, while Steven Taylor could only shoot straight at goalkeeper Vladimir Gaboulov from close range.
Anzhi's task was made more difficult in the 54th minute when Mehdi Carcela-Gonzalez was shown a second yellow card for his challenge on Massadio Haidara.
However, the Russians came within inches of earning the victory in the final minutes of normal time as Mbark Boussoufa's free kick rattled the crossbar.
The game looked to be heading towards extra time before Cisse headed in Haidara's cross.
