Newcastle United manager Eddie Howe has provided a positive injury update on Ryan Fraser.

The winger had to be replaced during their recent victory against Wolverhampton Wanderers due to a hamstring issue, which has caused doubts over his fitness for this weekend.

The Magpies will host Leicester City on Sunday, but at this point it is unknown whether or not the Scottish international will be available to play.

"I do not think it is too bad," Howe revealed to the press.

"But it was enough to bring him off, we had a scan and it showed a very small problem. So hopefully it will not be too long for him and we will have to see whether he makes this game."

The 28-year-old has been a regular for Newcastle this season, appearing in 26 of their 31 Premier League games, contributing two goals.
