Newcastle United caretaker manager John Carver missed the chance to press his claims for the permanent job as Burnley earned a point in a dramatic 3-3 draw.
Steven Taylor headed Newcastle into an early draw, but the lead didn't last long as Paul Dummett's mistimed header into his own net gifted Burnley an equaliser.
Burnley would equaliser twice more to ensure they left St James' Park with a point as Danny Ings cancelled out Jack Colback's strike, before George Boyd made it 3-3 late on after Moussa Sissoko had put Newcastle ahead again.

If we were giving out a man of the first half award (we aren't) then Moussa Sissoko would be walking home as the winner. It's been a great display from the Frenchman in the centre of midfield. Burnley can't seem to stop his runs forward and they'll have to deal with him better after the break if they want to get back in the game.
If Carver wants the job on a full-time basis, he's going the right way about it. He's currently the favourite to replace Pardew permanently, and Newcastle have looked sharp under his guidance in the first half. They look well organised at both ends of the pitch and they should pick up the win if they continue to play like the have done.
