Manager Rafael Benitez has suggested that signing a new striker could make a difference to Newcastle United next season.
Wednesday's 1-0 defeat to Tottenham Hotspur was Newcastle's fourth setback in a row, but the Magpies wasted a number of chances to earn at least a share of the spoils at Wembley Stadium.
Benitez has previously indicated that the club must break their transfer record to bring in a fresh face in attack, and the Spaniard reiterated his opinion after the disappointment in North London.
The 58-year-old is quoted by Goal.com as saying: "We know that we need to keep the same team spirit, the same mentality, the same commitment from all these players, and a little bit more quality to help and be sure that in this kind of game, you take your chances and win."
Only five teams have scored fewer goals than Newcastle in the Premier League this season.
