Former Newcastle United manager John Carver has been appointed as the new boss of AC Omonoia Nicosia.
Carver has been out of work since helping the Magpies remain in the Premier League during the final four months of the 2014-2015 campaign but he has earned a return to management in Cyprus.
On Saturday, the club released a statement saying: "Our Association announces that it has agreed with the 51-year-old English coach, John William Carver, to take over the coaching of our team.
"Mr Carver is in America for personal reasons, but will break his journey to begin work immediately to our team, to start preparing for the new season.
"Mr Carver worked at Newcastle, where he served as head coach, and assistant coach, next top coaches like Bobby Robson and Alan Pardew. He also worked at Leeds United, Toronto FC and Sheffield United."
Omonoia Nicosia finished in fourth position in the Cypriot top flight last season, which secured qualification for the Europa League first qualifying round.
