Jack Colback has admitted that he may have a battle on his hands to win over the full support of the Newcastle United fans.
The 24-year-old attracted attention earlier this summer when he elected to sign for the Magpies following his release from rivals Sunderland, but he is hopeful of proving his dedication to the club's supporters.
"There might be a bit more pressure [due to] the fact I've come from Sunderland," Colback is quoted as saying by The Mirror. "I've got to try to turn the fans' heads at Newcastle and win them over. It's something I'm relishing.
"Newcastle is a huge club, and it was a massive opportunity for me to come here.
"I have come to play for my hometown club - the club my family has supported and I have supported. That was the biggest thing. It's a club looking to go places."
Colback and Newcastle begin their Premier League campaign against Manchester City on August 17.
