Newcastle United manager Alan Pardew has revealed that the club have fined Mathieu Debuchy after he was sent off against West Bromwich Albion.
The 28-year-old was suspended for three games following a two-footed lunge on Claudio Yacob during the Magpies' 1-0 defeat to the Baggies on New Year's Day.
"I do want to take that tackle out of Mathieu's armoury," Pardew told the Shields Gazette. "He can't afford to do that again for the rest of the year, and the rest of the time he's here.
"I've made that clear to him. He's been fined, quite substantially, for that, but he's an aggressive player, and I'll never stop him being aggressive."
Debuchy could return to the side for tonight's Premier League clash against Norwich City.
