Newcastle United midfielder Danny Guthrie has expressed his disappointment in Joey Barton's ineligibility to feature for Queens Park Rangers against the Magpies on Sunday.
The 29-year-old will miss out on a return to his old club due to a three-match ban served to the playmaker during Rangers' 2-1 defeat to Norwich City last week.
"I think everyone is disappointed Joey isn't playing because we'd have loved to kick him once or twice," the Daily Star quotes Guthrie as saying.
Former Liverpool player Guthrie has returned to Alan Pardew's side following a six-week layoff through injury.
