Newcastle United defender Massadio Haidara has insisted that he has "learned" from his recent stint on the sidelines from injury.
The 20-year-old sought hospital treatment when Wigan Athletic youngster Callum McManaman slammed into the left-back's knee during the Magpies' 2-1 defeat to the Latics almost a fortnight ago.
"They say what doesn't destroy you can make you stronger. That's true," Haidara told The Chronicle. "It is going to be difficult for me to start with when I return.
"But I have learned a lot from this. I am learning more about the English game and it is a great education for me."
McManaman went unpunished for the incident, which left Haidara with severe bruising on his thigh.
