Former Tottenham Hotspur and Queens Park Rangers boss Harry Redknapp has insisted that there is no truth in reports linking him with the manager's job at Newcastle United.
The 68-year-old, who has been out of work since leaving QPR in February, has been linked with the Magpies following their poor start to the season under new head coach Steve McClaren.
Newcastle have won just two of their 14 Premier League games so far this season, but Redknapp is confident that McClaren will turn their fortunes around.
"Not heard anything about Newcastle, they've got a great manager in Steve," he wrote on Twitter.
"I've worked with him, he's excellent. I'm sure he'll get it right."
Newcastle, who are 19th in the table, host Liverpool on Sunday.
