Newcastle United manager Steve McClaren has described new player Florian Thauvin as a "perfect signing" for the club.
The Magpies completed a deal to sign Thauvin from Marseille today, with midfielder Remy Cabella joining the Ligue 1 club on a season-long loan.
The 22-year-old winger scored 15 goals in two years for Marseille, and McClaren believes that he is one of the hottest prospects around.
He told the club's official website: "Florian is a player the club have been watching for a long time and I am delighted that we have been able to sign him. He is a perfect signing for this club - someone who is young, with great potential and is one of the best young players in Europe.
"He is an exciting, creative talent who can score goals and make assists, and we believe he will have a very bright future at Newcastle."
Thauvin reportedly cost the club around £12m.
