Gabriel Obertan hopes that Newcastle United's first win of the Premier League season can be a "turning point" for the side.
The winger scored his first goal since October 2012 to secure a 1-0 win for the Magpies in their delayed match against Leicester City this evening.
The 25-year-old told BBC Sport: "I have been waiting a long time to score at St James' Park and I'm pleased for everyone.
"I'm so glad to get our first win of the season. I think it might be a turning point, we needed that win to get the confidence back in the team."
The result has lifted Alan Pardew's side up to 18th in the Premier League table.
