Newcastle United manager Alan Pardew has dedicated his side's defiant 2-2 draw against Hull City to Toon player Jonas Gutierrez, who announced this week that he has been diagnosed with testicular cancer.
Goals by Nikica Jelavic and Mohamed Diame left the Magpies on the verge of another defeat, but a Papiss Cisse brace salvaged a draw for the struggling North-East outfit.
Pardew told reporters after the game: "We've had to climb a mountain. The players were magnificent for me, I have to thank them.
"It just goes to show, with Papiss Cisse's celebration, football can bring you together.
"Jonas announcing his illness this week was a big factor. We wanted to do something for Jonas and the team were terrific."
The draw has lifted Newcastle off the foot of the Premier League, the Magpies now sitting in 18th place.
