Alan Pardew: 'Crystal Palace draw was frustrating'

Alan Pardew admits that Newcastle United's 3-3 draw with Crystal Palace was "frustrating" for him.

Newcastle United manager has said that it was "frustrating" to concede an injury-time equaliser to Crystal Palace in a 3-3 draw at St James' Park today.

Mike Williamson's 89th-minute strike seemed to have handed the Magpies all three points, but Wifried Zaha struck late into stoppage time to give the visitors a share of the spoils.

"I'm disappointed today because we should have had three points," Pardew told BBC Sport. "Perhaps we got wrapped up in the crowd trying to get a fourth and it's frustrating to concede.

"We feel we should have won by now because we've played some good stuff but we weren't as tight defensively today as we have been and Palace caused up problems in wide areas."

One positive for Pardew was the performance of young winger Rolando Aarons, who earned Sports Mole's man of the match award today.

"We're very lucky to get Rolando Aarons through the system and I'm sure he'll get games because he's forced his way into my thinking. I've been here four years and we're starting to see one or two coming though," he added.

Today's result means that Newcastle are still without a win after three league games this season.
