Newcastle United manager Alan Pardew is expected to be handed a three-match touchline ban by the Football Association.
The 51-year-old was sent to the stands during the Magpies' 2-1 win over Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday for pushing assistant referee Stuart Burt.
Pardew said: "I'm still embarrassed about what I did. I've never done anything like that before.
"I've apologised to him and I can't really do any more than that."
FA officials will examine referee Martin Atkinson's match report later today before deciding whether to charge the Toon boss.
