Newcastle United manager Alan Pardew has praised Yohan Cabaye after his goal earned the Magpies a 1-0 win against Wigan Athletic at St. James' Park.
The win, which has kept United in fourth place in the Premier League table, continued the club's unbeaten start to the season.
"He's a class player," Pardew told Sky Sports News. "He's a class person, actually. He brings an elegance to the side.
"He's just a level-headed, good footballer. He's in an area where we've got competition. His quality shows every week.
"I'm pleased he's hit a real cracker to get him off and running."
Newcastle next face Blackburn Rovers at Ewood Park in the Carling Cup fourth round on Wednesday.
