Newcastle United defender James Perch has admitted that the team needs to start being more consistent in the Premier League.
The Magpies are currently 10th in the table following four wins and two defeats from their opening seven matches.
"It's been a bit up and down performance-wise," Perch told the club's official website.
"We've pulled off some good results and had a few wobbly performances, but overall I think we can look back and say we are quite happy with what we've done so far.
"It goes without saying though that there's room for improvement and that's what we are intending to do over the next few weeks."
Newcastle resume their domestic duties on Sunday when they make the short trip to local rivals Sunderland.
