Remy Cabella scored a late equaliser to give Newcastle United a 2-2 draw against Huddersfield Town in their pre-season friendly this evening.
The visitors opened the scoring in the 16th minute through Emmanuel Riviere, who slotted home Yoan Gouffran's ball across the box from close range.
Huddersfield responded well and they drew level in the 36th minute. Radoslaw Majewski controlled Paul Dixon's cross from the right, before firing an effort into the top corner past Tim Krul.
Cabella came close for the Magpies in the final moments of the first half, but his strike from range went just over the bar.
After the break the hosts threatened when Duane Holmes saw his effort from the edge of the box saved by Krul, before Joe Lolley fired over the bar from range.
In the 66th minute the Championship side make their pressure count by taking the lead, as Jon Stead saw his strike take a deflection before heading into the back of the net.
With two minutes left to play, Cabella equalised for Newcastle with a chip over Joe Murphy that ensured the match finished on level terms.
