Senegalese striker Demba Ba has reportedly turned down a new contract with Newcastle United.
A report earlier today had claimed that talks over fresh terms were ongoing, with the Magpies said to be keen to increase Ba's current release clause.
However, the 27-year-old has rejected the offer, sparking speculation that he could leave the club during the upcoming January transfer window, according to Press Association Sport.
The release clause in Ba's contract is thought to be worth around £7m.
He joined Newcastle on a free transfer from West Ham United in the summer of 2011.
