Newcastle United and West Bromwich Albion have reportedly failed to come to an agreement over a deal involving Salomon Rondon and Dwight Gayle.
The Magpies are keen to bring in Rondon - who has a release clause - before the end of the summer window, and Gayle has been offered on loan as part of a swap deal.
However, according to Sky Sports News, the Baggies are not happy with the terms being offered, which include having to pay a significant portion of Gayle's wages.
The report also claims that West Brom do not want to be forced into signing Gayle on a permanent transfer at the end of the upcoming campaign.
Newcastle have money to spend after the sale of Aleksandar Mitrovic, but the North-East outfit are seemingly unwilling to pay the full £16.5m for Venezuelan Rondon.
