Newcastle United have reportedly turned down the chance to sign former Blackburn Rovers winger Junior Hoilett.
The 22-year-old Canadian is currently a free agent after he chose not to renew his contract at Ewood Park.
Hoilett's £50,000-per-week wage demands and the compensation that would be owed to Rovers are thought to have put the Magpies off, according to the Newcastle Chronicle.
Meanwhile, manager Alan Pardew is closing in on Australian Under-20 defender Curtis Good.
