Aly Cissokho has claimed that Newcastle United have made contact with Lyon regarding his availability.
The French club recently informed the full-back that he could leave during the ongoing transfer window, but only if they received a suitable offer.
It now appears that the Magpies are closing in on his signature, although the 24-year-old has revealed that other teams are monitoring the situation.
"I am waiting for the green light from Lyon," he told Sky Sports News. "I am a Lyon player and if they agree a fee with a club, I will then talk to that club.
"But nothing is done yet and I have not been to Newcastle for a medical.
"Newcastle and Lyon are talking about me, but there are other teams interested as well."
Cissokho joined Lyon in 2009 from FC Porto.
