Newcastle United have reportedly joined Derby County in the race to sign Tom Ince from Hull City.
Derby have been repeatedly linked with a move for the attacking midfielder after he impressed on loan in the second half of the season, and reports had suggested that the Championship club triggered the buy-out clause in his contract.
However, the Rams could face competition for his services from former boss Steve McClaren, who is keen to bring Ince to Newcastle United, according to Sky Sports News.
The 23-year-old scored 11 goals in 18 games for Derby in his loan spell after falling out of favour under Hull boss Steve Bruce.
Ince has just one year remaining on his deal at the KC Stadium.
