Newcastle United manager Alan Pardew has revealed that he is hopeful of a new addition to his squad while the club are on a pre-season tour of Portugal.
The Magpies have yet to make any new signings during the summer, but Pardew believes that could change in the coming days.
The 52-year-old told reporters: "I would expect to be down the road with a transfer when we are in Portugal.
"I am hoping that Joe Kinnear and club secretary Lee Charnley get something over the line."
Newcastle have been linked with a move for Aston Villa forward Darren Bent.
