Newcastle United manager Alan Pardew has admitted that he regrets missing out on the signing of Loic Remy to Queens Park Rangers.
The French striker was expected to join the Magpies from Marseille during the January transfer window before his arrival at Loftus Road.
Remy is likely to feature on Sunday when QPR host Newcastle in the Premier League.
"I think we would have scored more and conceded fewer if he had signed," Pardew is quoted as saying by Goal.com. "The fact that we lost out on Remy was a major blow to our season.
"We felt he was going to sign for us and then at the last minute, he changed his mind, and that was a particular blow to us because it's very difficult to get a striker in that window."
Remy has scored five goals in 12 appearances for the R's during the current campaign.
