Rolando Aarons has reportedly informed Newcastle United that he is keen to extend his current contract with the club.
There had been suggestions that talks over a new deal had broken down last term, when the Magpies were said to have refused the 19-year-old's wage demands.
However, according to the Newcastle Chronicle, the winger has now made it known that he would like to remain at St James' Park, with negotiations likely to be concluded swiftly.
England youth international Aarons, who joined Newcastle from Bristol City in 2012, has less than 12 months left to run on his existing contract on Tyneside.
