Newcastle United are reportedly keen to sign Ola Toivonen during the January transfer window.
The 27-year-old's contract with PSV Eindhoven is due to expire in the summer and he recently rejected the Dutch club's offer of extended terms.
That has alerted Newcastle manager Alan Pardew, who is eager to bolster his attacking options, according to The Mirror.
It is believed that PSV will demand around £2.5m for the Sweden international, who could depart the Philips Stadion for free at the end of the ongoing campaign.
