Newcastle United are reportedly interested in signing Red Bull Salzburg attacker Benjamin Sesko.

The 19-year-old's future has been the subject of much speculation this summer, with a number of clubs believed to be interested in signing him during the current market.

According to the Daily Mail, Newcastle are now tracking the teenager, with the club's head coach Eddie Howe looking to bring another forward to the club before the end of the transfer window.

The report claims that Salzburg would demand 'a sizeable fee' for the Slovenia international, who has scored 11 goals and registered seven assists in 37 appearances for his Austrian side in all competitions.

Meanwhile, Fulham are believed to be on the verge of signing Kevin Mbabu from Wolfsburg.

The 27-year-old, who has entered the final 12 months of his contract with his German side, made 31 appearances during the 2021-22 campaign, including 24 outings in the Bundesliga.

There has been speculation surrounding his future in recent weeks, and according to Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano, Fulham are close to securing his signature.

Romano claims that Marco Silva's side have agreed a €5.5m (£4.7m) fee for the defender, although the final price will be higher once add-ons have been taken into account.

The Switzerland international has allegedly already agreed personal terms and will be officially presented by the newly-promoted club upon the completion of a medical.

Elsewhere, Roma are reportedly keen to sign Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Georginio Wijnaldum during this summer's transfer window.

The Netherlands international has allegedly been made surplus to requirements by PSG, having struggled to impress for the French champions since his arrival from Liverpool.

According to Romano, Roma are 'really interested' in signing the 31-year-old, although the Italian outfit are yet to submit an official offer for him.

PSG are said to be open to loaning out the Dutchman, who scored three times and registered three assists in 38 appearances for the capital giants during the 2021-22 campaign.

Wijnaldum still has two years left to run on his contract in the French capital.

Meanwhile, Everton and Nottingham Forest are reportedly going head-to-head for the signature of Burnley attacker Maxwel Cornet during this summer's transfer window.

The 25-year-old joined the Clarets from Lyon last summer and played 29 times for the club during the 2021-22 campaign, scoring nine times and registering two assists in the process.

Burnley are expected to lose the attacker following their relegation to the Championship, and according to journalist Ed Aarons, Everton and Forest are competing for his signature.

Aarons claims that Everton have already had a loan offer rejected for the Ivory Coast international, who still has four years left to run on his contract at Turf Moor. body check tags ::
