West Bromwich Albion have reportedly identified Newcastle United forward Dwight Gayle as a target for the January transfer window.
Despite sitting top of the Championship table, as well as having scored the most goals, the Baggies are expected to bring in fresh faces at the beginning of 2020.
According to The Sun, Slaven Bilic is keen to add another striker to his ranks, and that may lead to West Brom making an attempt to secure a reunion with Gayle.
The 29-year-old spent the last campaign on loan at The Hawthorns, contributing 24 goals from 40 appearances in all competitions.
While Gayle could get first-team opportunities at St James' Park having returned from injury, he finds himself in competition with club-record addition Joelinton and Andy Carroll.
