Tom Bender has been discharged from hospital following last night's on-pitch collision.
The Accrington Stanley defender clashed with teammate Ian Dunbavin and Tranmere Rovers' Lucas Akins in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy fixture, which was abandoned after the incident.
Bender received on-pitch treatment for around half an hour before being taken to hospital.
"Tom's okay. He's in good spirits. He doesn't remember too much about it, but that's nothing unusual!" his father Lee Bender said in a statement earlier today.
"I'm just glad I was here really. I don't think he knew much about it though. He certainly didn't acknowledge me in the hospital! He recognised his teammate Kurtis Guthrie more than me.
"The medical care he got was absolutely superb. I'd like to thank everyone from Accrington and from Tranmere and the medical staff."
The 18-year-old is currently on a season-long loan at the Crown Ground from Colchester United.
