David Beckham's Major League Soccer franchise will be called Inter Miami, with the newly-formed club unveiling their name and logo on social media.
Beckham's plans to form a MLS franchise were announced in January, and the club will start competing in the top flight of American football in 2020 after being awarded an expansion contract.
"This is such a proud day for myself and for the entire team," Beckham, who is team owner and president, said in a press release.
"We are taking another important step in establishing our club and today marks an important moment in the history of Club Internacional de Futbol Miami."
The new club's managing owner Jorge Mas added: "Our city and our fans draw their strength from the dreams of a global population that calls Miami home.
"It is only fitting that our name pays tribute to the inclusiveness that makes us who we are."
Beckham played in the MLS between 2007 and 2012, making 98 league appearances for Los Angeles Galaxy.
