The French professional league has confirmed that the Coupe de la Ligue, the division's equivalent of the EFL Cup, will not be held as of next season.
The decision was made after the LFP failed to secure a broadcaster for the period between 2020 and 2024.
Paris Saint-Germain have dominated the competition since its inception in 1995, winning the honour on eight occasions.
In a statement released on Wednesday, the LFP said: "The LFP's board and its general assembly have decided to suspend the organisation of the League Cup after the 2019-2020 edition.
"Depending on the market, the LFP retains the right to relaunch the competition in the future."
This year's edition of the Coupe de la Ligue is already underway, with second-round games taking place last month.
Strasbourg are the current holders of the title, having beaten Guingamp on penalties at the Stade de France in March.
